Hi Guys,

We were asked to post this information by the Regatta centre regarding the rules around using the centre for swim training.

Subject: Swim Training

Good Evening,

Just a friendly reminder regarding SWIM TRAINING and our venue regulations.

As we draw closer to major events such as Ironman 70.3, and the end of year club meets we have seen an increase in the number of athletes swim training. Of late we have had a few people incorrectly using the venue and not following venue regulations.  I believe this is just a misunderstand with regards to our venue operations/ booking procedures. Can you please assist by advising all your members the following procedures for Swim training:

  • Anyone wishing to swim train will need to contact our office on 02 4730 0000 to confirm venue availability
  • Once confirmed they are required to complete a swim training booking form (attached)
  • If they have not completed a indemnity form (attached) they will need to also complete this document
  • Once the swim training booking form has been received (and if required the indemnity form) we will reconfirm availability and enter the booking into our system

Swimmers need to be aware of the following when swim training – this is also noted on the swim training form.

  • You MUST swim only in the designated swim lane
  • You MUST have a spotter who is able to rescue you in an emergency and administer first aid
  • You MUST have a booking to swim train

Moving forward athletes who do not have a booking or are not abiding by the above venue regulations will be removed from the water.

Should you have any questions or wish to discuss this matter further please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Kind Regards,

Kristy Tinnion | Venue Coordinator
